Herbert Hoover's administration was hurt by the stock market crash of 1929 happening in his first year in office. The crash led to The Depression and that plagued Hoover's presidency. Hoover tried many times to bring some relief to the thousands of unemployed people. Hoover was blamed for the crash and depression. Hoover lost the 1932 president election by a wide margin.
